The day of the African Child Falls on the 16th of June each year. It came to being as a remembrance of the sacrifice by students who were massacred in 1976 in Soweto during an uprising against the unjust apartheid system in South Africa. Even in the new Africa, young people still face injustices which hinder them to realize their full potential. As we look forward to commemorate this day, Word Smash Poetry will run a 1 hour program from 12:00-13:00 Hrs on the 16th of June 2020.
